 [HERR MERKEL] This tall, handsome German man meets with Cora Neel and the other board members about buying Hamilton Motors…(29)

 

[WOMAN] This grieving woman in her 30s is the widow of one of the dead auto workers who was killedat the Old East Foundry Factory. She asks Charlie who will be taking over now that William isgone…(34)

 

[BOY / MALCOLM] This small 10 year old boy with huge, eerie eyes, lost his father in the auto factoryaccident. He makes Billy uncomfortable, especially when he shows up at William's funeral and mysteriously tells Billy "there are no accidents"… (34)

 

[SECURITY GUARD] This security guard at the accident site shakes hands with Reggie and chats with the Union Reps. He's disturbed when the factory suddenly goes black and the radio turns on by itself to play a haunting song… (3)

 

[UNION REP 1 AND UNION REP 2] These rumpled Union Reps meet with Reggie and Josh at the accident site and are disturbed when the factory lights go out and the radio turns on by itself to play a haunting melody…(3)

 

[YOUNG BILLY] Seen in flashbacks to the age of 15, he is trying to find his way through an enormous, darkened garage when he is frightened by his father, who comes toward him with a silver pistol…POSSIBLE RECUR (22)

 

[MS. THAYER] She is Billy's extremely pretty teaching assistant at Harvard who is enamored with Billy and sorry to see him leave… (4)

 

[ROZ] She is Reggie's 25 year old sister who flirts with Josh during a backyard barbeque. She is concerned that she'll lose her job if Hamilton Motors sells the company… (32)

 

[BUM] This hooded, drunken bum on the elevated train in downtown Detroit tells Billy the city's not dead; it's sleeping. Then the bum sings "My Boy" by Elvis Presley, the same song that's been haunting Billy since he returned… (54A)

 

[STUDENT] This college student in Billy's class wonders if Billy is taking a vacation…(4)

 

[TV REPORTER] Seen both live and on TV, this reporter discusses William Hamilton's death, as well as his enormous role in the city of Detroit's economy… (5)

 

[SECRETARY] At Paul's office, she tells Paul his wife has arrived… (15)

 

[BUTLER / TOM] He is the jovial butler at the Hamilton estate who tells Billy where Gertrude is… (25)

 

[HOSTESS / DJ] This striking-looking restaurant hostess with a jagged scar on her cheek overhears Cora Neel and Herr Merkel discussing selling the Hamilton plant… (29)

 

[BOB, TONY AND SAM] These blue collar factory workers, some of them family men, tell Josh only partially in jest that they'll kill themselves if the plant closes…(44)

 

[WIFE] She is the wife of a factory worker, Tony, who tells him not to joke in front of the kids about killing himself… (44)

 

[MOTHER] This Detroit mom with three screaming kids in the back of her car is stranded when her cardies. She's grateful to Billy for stopping and helping her… (47)
